With over 30 years of industry experience, we are committed to delivering custom-engineered cooling solutions tailored to meet the unique requirements of diverse industries, including plastics, semiconductors, laboratories, aquaculture, and more. Our History and Milestones :

1994 - Establishment and Early Years

SCP Automation began as Sam Chin Plastic Machinery, primarily a trading company importing water chillers, auto loaders, color mixers, hopper dryers, granulators, and plastic injection machinery from Hong Kong and Taiwan. Most of our early customers were Malaysian plastic manufacturers, providing us insight into the local market needs and challenges faced by this industry.

 

1997 - Transition to Manufacturing

After gaining valuable experience as a trading company, we launched our manufacturing division under the name SCP Automation (M) Sdn Bhd. We introduced our first line of SCP Industrial Water Chillers and Mold Temperature Controllers, crafted specifically to address the cooling needs of the Malaysian market.

 

1998 - Multi-Compressors Chillers Introduction

We pioneered the SF and SM series Multi-Compressors Type Industrial Water Chillers featuring two or more compressors for enhanced temperature stability and control, with an accuracy of ±1ºC. This product set the benchmark for reliable process cooling in Malaysia.

 

2000-2005 - Expanding Product Range and Industries

In the early 2000s, we expanded beyond plastics into industries such as academia, laboratories, semiconductor, and aquaculture. Our product offerings grew to include:

• Liquid Coolers for process cooling across multiple industries.

• Semiconductor Chillers with a temperature accuracy of ±0.5ºC and centralized control systems managing up to 32 units.

• Laser Chillers designed with ±0.2ºC precision.

• Low-Temperature Chillers reaching -30ºC for specialized applications.

• Cooling Baths for laboratory use.

• Titanium-Tube Aquarium Chillers for fish farming, ponds, and labs.

• High-Temperature Mold Temperature Controllers capable of reaching 300ºC.

 

2006-2016 - Introduction of Dehumidifiers and Panel Coolers

In 2006, SCP expanded into manufacturing heavy-duty dehumidifiers and panel coolers customized for Malaysia’s tropical climate. Our dehumidifiers achieve moisture control as low as 40% RH, and our panel coolers can maintain control box temperatures between 20-25ºC. This period also saw the development of compact dehumidifiers with honeycomb rotor technology, capable of achieving a dew point as low as 30.

 

2017-2022 - Innovation and Industry 4.0 Readiness

In response to rising temperatures in Malaysia, SCP introduced industrial portable air conditioners for rugged, outdoor applications, providing cooling down to 20ºC. As part of the Industry 4.0 revolution, our products now feature advanced functionalities, including GSM capabilities, centralized cloud-based data logging, and energy-efficient designs, helping clients manage their cooling systems more effectively.

 

2023-Present - Leveraging Artificial Intelligence for Enhanced Quality

With the rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI), SCP has integrated AI-driven solutions to improve our product quality, achieving enhanced precision and reliability in our manufacturing processes.
