Lost wax casting is a traditional method for making detailed metal items. First, a model is made from wax. Then, the wax is coated with a special ceramic material to form a hard mould. The wax is melted and removed, leaving a hollow space.

Molten metal is poured into this space to create the final shape. Once the metal cools, the outer mould is broken off, and the metal piece is cleaned and finished.
